Can you be the first to get to 23?

Got It is a game for two players. The first player chooses a whole number from 1 to 4. After that players take turns to add a whole number from 1 to 4 to the running total. The player who hits the target of 23 wins the game.

Every time you have to get to an odd number that is a multiple of 3 apart from 6 which also works

You have to get the other person to 18 to win the game, as 18+4, which is the highest, is 22 meaning they can't get to 23!

The way to beat the computer is by getting up to 18 yourself so whatever number it rolls your number can get you up to 23. Just keep going up in 5 because with any combination you will get 5.

My strategy was to go up in fives from 3, so you go 3 then say it goes up 2 to 5, then you would choose 3 to go to 8. Then say it went 4 up to 12 then you would choose 1 to get to 13. Then say it would go 3 up to 16, then go 2 up to 18. Then say it went 4 up to 22, then you would go 1 to 23 and win.

You have to get to 18 then it makes it impossible for the computer to get to 23. But to get to 18 you have to get 13,8, or 3. They are all 5 behind because the maximum is 4, and the minimum is 1, so no matter what the computer adds it won't get it, but you will. You can also see in this that they need to be five behind: 23,18,13,8,3. Another way which works for all numbers is that you subtract five from the target number (23-5=18) and whatever the unit number is and what unit number in the target number are the numbers you need to get in all of the numbers you make.

If you want to win you must ...

say 18 because if you get 18 the other players choices are 19, 20, 21, 22. So you can do 1, 2, 3, 4 and you will win. But first you need to say 13.

If you want to win you MUST land on ...

<div class="toggle">13 or 18, because if you land on 18 and whatever your partner does, you will win and to get 18 you need to get 13 because no matter what your partner does you will land on 18 and win. </div>

The checkpoints for you and the opponent can change the game.

The checkpoints you have to hit to win are: 3 - 8 - 13 - 18 because you prevent your opponent from hitting your own checkpoints. You need to start the game!
EXPLANATION: In order to win, you should always use a formula (-5) because your opponent cannot say 5 whereas you can always add a number to 1 - 2 -3 -4 to reach 5. When your opponent says something, you can always reach your checkpoints.

You always start with 3, then

whatever the next person/computer does you add a number to make 5 e.g. they +1, you do +4 etc then you will always win

get to 18 first, so the way you need to go is you get to 3, then 8, then 13, then 18. This only works if you go first.

hit 8 first that is the landmark, the only possible way to stop the computer from getting 8 first is to hit 3, then proceeding the computers move add up the sum to which gets you to 8 do the same to 13 then 18 and then to 23 of course !!!

I did it as ...

being the first one to 8. Computer then can only add up to 12, so just add 1 to 13. Computer can add up to 17 at the highest. Once you have got to 18, you can win in any way.

I put my target as 18.Then when the computer got on 13 I went on to setting and the number to 5 then I pressed 5 and I basically won.I'm basically cheating.

Start with 1,2 or 3. Whichever number the computer chooses will add up to 7 or less. Then choose a number which will make 8. Whichever number the computer chooses, it will add up to 12 or less. Then choose a number which will make 13. Whichever number the computer chooses, it will add up to 17 or less. Then choose a number which will make 18. Whichever number the computer chooses, it will add up to 22 or less.Then choose the number which will make 23. Tested and verified. works 100% of times (unless you did not follow the instruction)
